OLIVE OIL
Olive oil is one of the most common base oils used in soap making today and has been used for centuries. We use light olive oil. It makes a nice hard bar of soap, is mild and makes a nice dense lather when combined with other oils.
cocos nucifera
COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil produces a bar with excellent cleaning properties and fluffy bubbles but does not offer much conditioning or moisturizing which is why we use it in conjunction with other skin loving oils and butters.

AVOCADO OIL
Avocado oil is an antioxidant, emollient, and anti-inflammatory and helps the skin maintain hydration and minimizes damage from free radicals.

COCOA BUTTER
Cocoa butter is used as a skin moisturizer and emollient and helps to maintain skin's hydration and minimize damage from free radicals.
vitellaria paradoxa
SHEA BUTTER
We use 100% raw, unrefined African shea butter. It is deeply moisturizing, packed with fatty acids (mainly oleic acid and stearic acid), as well as linoleic and palmitic fatty acids. Shea butter replenishes the skin and hair with healthy lipids for a healthy glow. It is used in our soaps, lotions, shampoo and conditioner bars.
MANGO BUTTER
We use 100% raw, unrefined mango butter. Mango butter in shampoo can help promote healthy hair growth, strengthen hair strands, reduce flaking and itchy scalp, and add shine and luster. It is used in our solid shampoo bars.

ALOE VERA
Aloe vera moisturizes, soothes, and hydrates skin and hair. It is used in our soaps, shampoos and lotions.

LYE
Lye is an alkali, also known as a base (versus an acid). When lye is combined with oils and butters, it goes through a chemical change known as saponification, the formation of soap. Through careful recipe creation, all the lye in a recipe is saponified and no longer able to cause chemical burns to the skin that plain lye does.

DISTILLED WATER
Distilled water is water that has been boiled into vapor and condensed back into liquid in a separate container. Impurities in the original water remain in the original container. Thus, distilled water is a type of purified water.

GOAT'S MILK
Goat's milk soap is a gentle cleanser, rich in nutrients, helps moisturize, gives gentle exfoliation and helps support healthy skin microbiome (the good bacteria that is on skin). All of our soaps are made with natural, full fat goat's milk.

HEMP SEED OIL
Hemp Oil contains high levels of unsaturated fats, which give it great moisturizing properties. That, in addition to providing ample lather makes it a perfect choice for our specialty soap.

CASTOR OIL
This oil has amazing moisturizing and healing properties for skin and hair When added to our soaps and shampoo bars it also lends itself to a thick, rich, creamy lather. We use it in all of our soaps, shampoo and conditioner bars.

SUNFLOWER OIL
Sunflower oil is chock full of good things like vitamins A, B, D and E and is super high in oleic acid which makes a moisturizing and conditioning soap. It is especially helpful in repairing dry, weather damaged skin. It is used in our specialty soaps and shampoos.

SOYBEAN OIL
Soybean oil creates soap that is gentle on the skin and is a good source of antioxidants and other nutrients that can benefit the skin. It is used exclusively in our dog soap.

PALM OIL
Palm oil is a vegetable oil derived from the fruit of the oil palms. It adds moisturizing properties and a creamy lather to soaps. We use palm oil only from sustainable and eco-friendly sources. It is used exclusively in our dog soap.

FRAGRANCE OIL
Fragrance oils are blended synthetic aroma compounds and/or natural essential oils that are diluted with a carrier like propylene glycol, vegetable oil, or mineral oil. Premium fragrance oils are used in most of our product line.

ESSENTIAL OIL
Essential oils are concentrated hydrophobic liquids containing volatile (easily evaporated at normal temperatures) chemical compounds from plants. They are the purest of scents as they are the essence of the plants they come from. Premium essential oils are used in many of our product lines.

SWEET ALMOND OIL
Sweet almond oil is a potent essential oil used for treating dry and sun-damaged skin and hair. It is also sometimes used for lightening the skin, acting as a gentle cleanser, preventing acne and helping with hair loss. It is used in some of our specialty soaps and shampoos.
muscovite mica
MICA
Muscovite mica is a type of phyllosilicate mineral rock that naturally occurs almost everywhere. It is harvested, sterilized, ground into tiny particles, and dyed in an endless array of colors.
activated charcoal
ACTIVATED CHARCOAL
Our activated charcoal comes from coconut shells that have been burned at a very high temperature, turning it into powder. It is said to help absorb toxins, unclog and minimize pores, exfoliate and soothe skin.
It is used in our detox facial bars and as a natural black colorant for our soaps.
Oxides
OXIDES
Oxides are powdered color pigments such as black, brown, yellow and red iron oxides, chromium oxide, and ultramarine. Though they can be naturally occurring, most are nowadays made in the lab to avoid impurities and bacteria that can be found in the naturally occurring substances.

BOTANICALS
Botanicals that we use are natural flowers and plants, many of which we grown in our own gardens. They are used dried as decoration or are brewed into teas for their natural coloration as well as benefits for skin and hair. They are used in our soaps, lotions and solid shampoo bars.
INDIGO
Indigo is an organic compound found in the leaves of certain plants — most notably indigo plants in the genus Indigofera (from India or South America). It has been used for centuries as a dye. We use it in some of our all natural specialty soaps.
NATURAL CLAYS
Clays are fine textured, highly absorbent mineral compound mined in locations all over the world. In soap and shampoo, it offers gentle exfoliation and gives a silky feel to the lather. We use Serbian Blue, Brazilian Purple, French Green, Rose Pink and White Kaolin clays.
colloidal oatmeal
COLLOIDAL OATMEAL
Colloidal oatmeal is ground from the kernels of oats into a fine powder that dissolves in water. It soothes and moisturizes, binding to your skin to lock in moisture, giving your skin a chance to rehydrate. It is used in our specialty soaps and dog soap.
lapis calaminaris
CALAMINE CLAY
Calamine clay is the powdered form of a zinc ore use to treat conditions such as sunburn, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, and other mild skin conditions. Its drying effect makes it helpful for chicken pox. We use it in our specialty soap for skin irritations.

PINE TAR
Pine tar has been used for decades to treat a number of skin ailments including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, and dandruff. It is known to reduce itching, dryness, and flakiness as well as having antiseptic and antifungal properties. It is used in some of our specialty soaps and solid shampoo bars.

ECO-FRIENDLY GLITTER
Eco-friendly glitter uses natural and plant derived material as its basis rather than plastic and quickly biodegrade into harmless substances in the natural environment.

SALTS
We use a variety of natural salts from all over the world including Mediterranean Sea salt, pink Himalayan salt, Hawaiian Red Alaea Sea salt, Hawaiian black lava salt, and Epsom salts. Each offers their unique combination of natural minerals.
BOTANICAL SEEDS
Botanical seeds, such as poppy and cranberry, are added to some of our soaps and act as a gentle exfoliant.

BEESWAX and HONEY
Beeswax is extremely moisturizing, protects from harmful UV rays, contains antibacterial elements, and is 100% natural. We use it in our natural lip balms and solid lotion bars.
Honey is interchanged with cane sugar in some of our soaps and shampoo bars to act as a lather booster as well as a natural colorant and fragrance.
Our honey comes from the family farm in Joseph OR.

Sugar enhances lather and bubbles. It is added to our soaps and solid shampoo bars.

BTMS 25 and 50
BTMS (derived from rapeseed oil) acts as a non-irritating, mild conditioner, reducing static and frizz, encouraging moisture retention, easy detangling, and more voluminous, thicker hair without causing build-up on your hair strands.
It is used in our solid conditioner bars.
cetyl alcohol
CETYL ALCOHOL
Cetyl alcohol typically come from coconut palm trees, palm trees, corn plants, sugar beets, or soy plants and helps to protect the skin and hair from allergens, bacteria and moisture loss. It is used in our solid conditioner bars.

EMULSIFYING WAX NF
Emulsifying wax NF is a combination of a vegetable wax and cetearyl alcohol (from coconut and palm oils). It is used to help bind oils and water together in a smooth emulsion. It is used in our lotions and creams.
d-alpha-tocopherol
VITAMIN E OIL
A synthetically made nutrient, vitamin E is a moisturizer and also plays an important role as an antioxidant, protecting the skin from the damage caused by substances that are known as free radicals. It is used in our lotions and lip balms.
panthenol
PRO-VITAMIN B5
A synthetically made nutrient, panthenol is a moisturizer and humectant (substance that draws in moisture from the air) used in our solid conditioner bars.
octadecanoic acid
STEARIC ACID
A naturally occurring substance derived from palm. It is a cleansing agent, capable of helping remove excess sebum (oil), dirt and bacteria from skin and hair. It’s also an emulsifier, emollient and lubricant. It is used in our lotions.
theobroma cacao
COCOA POWDER
Cocoa powder contains several antioxidants called polyphenols. These polyphenols have many benefits including reducing inflammation and protecting skin from damaging effects of the sun. It is used in our sunscreen and also as a natural colorant.
simmondsia chinensis
JOJOBA OIL
Jojoba oil is a lot like human skin sebum, the oil your skin makes to stay moisturized and supple. Because jojoba oil is so similar to sebum and has a high vitamin E content, it's an an excellent skin softener that can smooth dry skin, prevent flakiness, and improve skin elasticity. It is used in our lotions and creams.
CANDELILLA WAX
Candelilla wax is rich in vitamin A which promotes cell regeneration and hydration. It is used in our solid conditioner bars.
It is also a vegan friendly alternative to beeswax.

VEGETABLE GLYCERIN
Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it can attract and retain moisture. For this reason, we add it to our solid conditioner bars.
Oddly enough, the process of saponification (making soap) actually produces glycerin as a by-product thus no additional glycerin is added to our soaps.
phenoxyethanol and caprylyl glycol
OPTIPHEN
Optiphen is a combination of organic compounds that inhibit microbial growth of bacteria and yeast. It is used in our lotions, sugar scrubs, fragrance mists and solid conditioner bars.
ZnO
ZINC OXIDE POWDER
Zinc oxide is made from zinc, a type of metallic element found in nature. For more than 2,000 years, zinc has been used for burns and wounds. Today, zinc oxide is a key active ingredient in many diaper rash creams, calamine lotions and mineral sunscreens. It provides broad-spectrum sun protection that prevents burns (including on photosensitive skin. It is used in our natural sunscreen.
CARROT SEED OIL
Carrot seed oil is an essential oil, which is a combination of the aromatic compounds that naturally exist in plants. A compound called umbelliferone, or 7-hydroxycoumarin, is found in carrot seed essential oil. This compound absorbs UVB light. It also has antifungal and antibacterial properties. It is used in our natural sunscreen.
Stephenson Foaming Soap Base
Foaming Soap Base is a popular, sulfate-free, whippable base for making mild face and body cleansing applications such as sugar scrubs, bath butters and soap frostings. This whip base offers a mild, non-irritant, creamy cleanser for all skin types including sensitive skin. It is used to make our Whipped Sugar Scrubs.
Turbinado Raw Cane Sugar
Unlike white sugar, which has been thoroughly processed, turbinado sugar is created with the first sugar cane pressings and is obtained in a natural manner, with almost no processing, The crystals are larger than regular white sugar which makes it perfect as the exfoliation ingredient in our Whipped Foaming Sugar Scrubs.
Polysorbate 80
Polysorbate 80 is a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier often used in pharmaceuticals, foods, and cosmetics. It is used in our fragrance mists to help the fragrance oil mix with the distilled water.
PUMICE POWDER
Pumice powder is made from pumice, a kind of igneous rock that is formed when a volcano erupts. When added to soap in a finely ground form it acts as a gentle exfoliant. It is used in our Pine Tar specialty soap.

Unbleached coffee filters are our eco-friendly outer packaging for shampoo, conditioner and dish soap bars. they require less processing when made and don't involve the use of harmful chemicals. They are also 100% bio-degradable.
UNBLEACHED WAX PAPER ROUNDS
Our eco-friendly inner wrap for shampoo, conditioner and dish soap bars. The light natural wax coating helps to hold in the fragrances while the item is stored prior to use. They are also 100% bio-degradable.
HEAT SHRINK WRAP BAGS
Our eco-friendly shrink wrap. Unlike traditional PVC wrap, POF is odorless, food safe, and FDA approved. It is also 100% recyclable.
